Donald Trump winning the election was surprising to many US residents.  It even made many people angry.  Some people were hoping Hillary Clinton would win.  Some people complained a little on the internet or to friends.  To those people it wasn’t that big of a deal...right?  To some people it was like the end of the world.  In the days after the election, protests, signs, billboards, clothing, “art”, etc...were frequent things found with an anti Trump message.

How much negative emotion some people displayed was evident on November 12, 2016 when more than 3,000 protesters, chanting and waving signs, went from Union Square to Trump Tower in New York City.  People also made billboards, painted murals and graffiti on walls of buildings spelling out their anti Trump message.  People carried and put up signs that said things like, “Dump Trump” , “Love Trumps Hate”, “Not My President”, “We Reject, The President Elect!”.  Some people also compared Trump and his supporters to Natzis.  On one occasion Trump and his supporters were compared to Natzis, when a piece of yellow paper was hung on a front window of a cafe in Honolulu, Hawaii.  The paper said, “If you voted for Trump, you cannot eat here!”.   Not all people acted like this, but some people had so much emotion about the 2016 presidential election and still do.
