The lead singer of the Cranberries died on january 15th 2018. No one knows how exactly she died yet, but authorities are trying to figure it out. A lot of people didn’t really care because she’s kind of old news as a singer.  But people who listened to her are mourning and deeply devastated by this. I loved her and I was really sad about it and it was really unexpected because she’s only 46. Or she was only 46.this picture is of her.Image result for dolores o'riordan

Recently, my mom and her boyfriend have been trying to buy a new house. It is located in a suburb in Haslett, which is close to Laingsburg. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a finished basement. The backyard is pretty spacious, so they are looking to put in a pool during the summer. The house is overall really nice and spacious. It has a home-like feel to me. I do hope that we are able to get the house.

Here is a trip up to Bitley, MI ice fishing with a total of 30 fish 3 were croppies and the other 27 were bluegills.  Bitley is a town in a massive chunk of state land called the Huron-Manistee National Forest. My dad and I  were the only people on the lake that we were fishing.

  American Traditions for New Years

There are many different things people do on the New Years Eve and New Years day. These are a few traditions. The first one is the New York’s Time Square. It started in 1904 and goes at least till midnight. It is put onto tv and many people go in person. The second tradition is kissing at midnight. There is not much of a reason why people do this.  According to USA today another tradition is wearing colorful underwear. It is believed the color of underwear you wear will predict what kind of year you’re going to have.

New Years

On Dec 31, 2017 the ball dropped in New York at 11:59 causing the entire year to start over and begin 2018. My family had barely made it to 12:00 because we were so tired. My mom was up because she was in Chicago at the time. Anyways, New Years in America is celebrated throughout the country and many people take it very seriously with parties and late nights. Many people gather in Times Square to watch the ball drop. And that marks the new year in America.

Basketball cuts/tryouts

This year was the first year for school basketball and if you aren't at the required skill level then you probably won’t make the team. I made the team but a couple people didn’t. Otherwise everything else is the same as normal basketball.

Our community schools had our annual halloween parade! During this parade our elementary school (grades 1-5) dress up in costumes and walk around our town. During this our middle school band marches and plays songs. This year the band played “Ghostbusters”, “monster mash”, and “the spongebob squarepants theme”. The band also get to wear costumes! The community watches as well and cheers the band on. It’s a really fun parade for our entire community!

        Trick Or Treating In Laingsburg

This year I trick or treated with my best friend, Libby.
We had a lot of fun this year. I went as a “Sumo Wrestler”, and Libby went as a, Pineapple. We went trick or treating in the subdivision in front of the high school. It took us around 1 hour and 30 min. To go to all the houses in subdivision. (In our town, Halloween lasts from, 6:00-8:00) When we were all done, we headed back to my house and traded/sorted our candy.
